Following countless intense battles alongside its pilot Mikazuki Augus, the ASW-G-08 Gundam Barbatos sustained damage far beyond what Tekkadan's repair capabilities could handle. As a result, the battle-worn mobile suit was transported to the MS Workshop in Saisei for a complete and comprehensive overhaul.
It was here that the unit was reborn. The Saisei Chief Mechanic, who also assumed full responsibility for the mobile suit's ongoing maintenance, bestowed upon it a new identity: "Lupus" — marking the beginning of an entirely new chapter for the iconic machine.
The transformation was far more than cosmetic. Drawing directly from Mikazuki's accumulated combat data, the Gundam Barbatos Lupus was fully reconfigured as a specialized close combat unit, with key performance upgrades including:
- Significantly increased reaction speed for faster battlefield response
- Enhanced mobility to keep pace with the most demanding combat scenarios
- Alaya-Vijnana System adjustments, fine-tuned to synchronize the machine's movements as closely as possible with its pilot's natural senses

Furthermore, the Gundam Frame's response rate was precisely calibrated to match the exceptional speed at which Mikazuki perceives and reacts during combat — creating an unprecedented level of pilot-to-mobile suit synchronization.
